Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Sing Your Part — for church leaders, families, and individual singers.

About Sing Your Part

What is Sing Your Part?

Sing Your Part is a church music app that gives congregations and families easy access to hymns in four-part harmony. It provides digital accompaniment and sheet music with independent volume controls for soprano, alto, tenor, and bass — so anyone can learn their part and sing with confidence.

Who is Sing Your Part for?

Sing Your Part serves three audiences: churches who want to build a singing culture and give their congregation access to all their music, families who want to sing during family worship at home, and individuals who want to learn their harmony part and sing more confidently on Sunday morning.

What devices does Sing Your Part work on?

Sing Your Part works on any device. Download the app on iOS or Android, or use any web browser at singyourpart.app. It works on phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops.

What hymns are available?

We offer a growing library of published hymnals. Churches can also choose from our full library and upload their own sheet music for any song they sing — so your digital hymnal matches exactly what your congregation uses on Sunday.

Does it include voices or just instruments?

Sing Your Part provides digital piano accompaniment for all four parts (soprano, alto, tenor, bass). It does not include recorded voices — the goal is for you to be the voice. You can adjust the volume of each part independently to isolate the part you are learning.

For Churches

What does a church subscription include?

A church subscription gives your entire congregation access to all of your church's music. It includes: your church's custom digital hymnal, in-app liturgy and event planning, daily singing plans (1-3 songs per day sent to every household), the ability to upload custom sheet music, default tempos set by your music director, and song history and usage insights.

How much does a church subscription cost?

Church subscriptions start as low as $300 per year and scale based on the number of households in your church. Schedule a demo to get a quote for your congregation.

How do we get our church set up?

Getting started is simple. Schedule a video demo or call us at 208-850-8531. We will walk you through the setup process, help you configure your hymnal, and get your congregation connected — usually in a single session.

What is the liturgy planner?

The liturgy planner lets your music director plan worship music weeks in advance. You select songs for each element of your service and those selections are automatically visible to every household in your church — so families can practice before Sunday.

What are daily singing plans?

Daily singing plans send 1-3 relevant songs per day to every household in your church. These include songs from your upcoming services as well as seasonal selections for Advent, Christmastime, Easter, and other times in the church calendar.

Can we upload our own sheet music?

Yes. If your church sings songs that are not in our published hymnal library, you can upload your own sheet music so your entire congregation has access to everything you sing — all in one place.

Can our music director set the tempo for songs?

Yes. Your music director sets the default tempo and key for each song. When your congregation members practice during the week, they hear the song at the same tempo they will sing it on Sunday.

For Families and Individuals

How much does a family subscription cost?

A household subscription is $4 per month and gives you access to all of our published music library. Subscribe at singyourpart.app/subscribe.

Do I need my church to be on Sing Your Part to use it?

No. Individual households can subscribe independently and get access to our full published music library. However, if your church has a subscription, you will also get access to your church's custom hymnal, liturgy plans, and daily singing plans.

How do I learn my harmony part?

Open any hymn and use the volume sliders to isolate your part (soprano, alto, tenor, or bass). Start by turning your part up and the others down. As you gain confidence, gradually bring the other parts back in. When you can sing your part with all four voices playing, you are ready for Sunday.

How do I know which part to sing?

If you are a woman, start with soprano (higher) or alto (lower). If you are a man, try tenor (higher) or bass (lower). The best way to find your part is to experiment — try each one and see which feels most comfortable in your voice.

Can I use Sing Your Part for family worship?

Absolutely — this is one of the main reasons we built Sing Your Part. Open the app at the dinner table, pick a hymn, press play, and sing together. No piano required, no musical training needed.
