About this hymn
Edward Perronet's text was first printed in 1779, and this is the Coronation tune by Oliver Holden, the oldest American hymn tune still in wide use. The soprano carries a big melody; the other three parts get to shout 'crown Him' underneath it, which is the fun of singing this one in harmony.
