About this hymn
Reginald Heber wrote this for Trinity Sunday around 1826, and John Dykes wrote the tune Nicaea for it in 1861, named for the council that gave us the creed. The three 'holy's rise in thirds; sing the tenor part and you will hear why it is one of the most loved harmonies in the book.
