About this hymn

Samuel Medley wrote this in 1775 from Job 19:25, and every line but the last of each verse ends with 'He lives.' The tune Duke Street, from about 1793, is plain and confident. Because the melody repeats its shape in every verse, this is a good hymn for learning a part by ear.
