About this hymn
Isaac Watts published this paraphrase of Psalm 72 in 1719, and it became the first great missionary hymn. The tune is Duke Street, the same as 'I Know That My Redeemer Lives,' so if you learn one you have the other. The bass line walks up under the last phrase; it is worth hearing on its own.
